OpenAI is reportedly developing new job-seeking and career development tools for ChatGPT.
According to recent changes spotted in ChatGPT’s web app, OpenAI is experimenting with a dedicated “Jobs” experience that could sit alongside newer features such as ChatGPT Health.
The supposed tool is expected to help users plan career moves, identify relevant training, and prepare applications, rather than simply answering ad-hoc questions about work.
If launched, the Jobs feature would likely allow ChatGPT users to refine CVs and cover letters, compare roles against personal goals, and receive tailored upskilling recommendations.
Industry analysts believe it could also surface learning pathways for career switches, helping users understand which skills they need — and how to acquire them — for specific roles.
The move would build on existing OpenAI initiatives, as in late 2025, the company outlined plans to expand its OpenAI Jobs Platform — which focuses on connecting employers with people who have AI-related skills.
At the same time, OpenAI unveiled a certification programme aimed at helping certify 10 million Americans by 2030, positioning AI literacy as a core workforce skill.
A centralized Jobs dashboard inside ChatGPT would represent a logical next step, tying together career advice, skills development and job matching within a single interface.
Like ChatGPT Health, which allows users to connect personal data for more tailored responses, any career-focused feature is expected to raise questions around data use and privacy — particularly if OpenAI continues to explore advertising as part of its business model.
OpenAI has not formally confirmed the new Jobs tool or provided a timeline for release, but the supposed appearance of early interface changes suggests testing may already be under way, at least internally.
