Flexible workspace operator Workspace Group has appointed Charlie Green, co-founder of The Office Group (now Fora), as its next chief executive officer. Green will assume the role on February second, according to BE NEWS.
He succeeds Lawrence Hutchings, who is stepping down as both CEO and board director after leading the company through a strategic reset.
Leadership Transition Underway
Hutchings joined Workspace during a challenging period and oversaw the rollout of the company’s “fix, accelerate and scale” strategy, aimed at stabilizing operations and improving performance. The board confirmed it remains committed to that strategy and believes it has put the business on firmer footing.
Green brings deep sector experience, having led ToG/Fora through multiple growth phases, including its acquisition by Blackstone in 2017. His appointment signals continuity rather than a strategic pivot, with a focus on execution, occupancy recovery, and income growth.
CFO Succession Announced Separately
The CEO change follows a recent finance leadership update. Workspace announced last month that Tom Edwards-Moss will join as CFO designate on February 23. He will take over from Dave Benson, who is set to leave the business on April 30, 2026.
Focus on Growth and Occupancy
The board said Green’s background in scaling flexible workspace platforms and improving operational performance positions him to accelerate the current strategy. Key priorities remain rebuilding occupancy levels, driving income growth, and delivering shareholder returns.
Green said he sees strong long-term potential in Workspace’s portfolio and market positioning, citing the relevance of its customer proposition and the strength of the existing team as he prepares to take on the role.
