73% of office-related searches in India are focused on flexible formats now, while traditional leasing makes up less than 27% of demand signals.
The data points to a clear pattern: companies are searching with specific, immediate needs in mind rather than broad, long-term requirements, according to Fortune India.
Coworking-related searches generate nearly five times the volume of traditional office queries. Within that, demand is becoming more targeted.
Meeting room searches have increased 187% over the past three years. Virtual office queries are up 99%, and day pass searches have grown 20%. These flexible options now account for most coworking-related demand.
Demand Expands Beyond Major Cities
Interest is spreading beyond India’s largest business hubs. Tier-2 cities are seeing increased search activity, alongside a growing share of international demand.
About 3% of office-related searches come from outside India, led by users in the United States, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates. This reflects global business expansion and evolving workforce patterns.
Managed Offices and Sustainability Gain Attention
Managed office spaces are seeing strong growth in search volume, although they remain smaller compared to coworking demand.
Sustainability is also becoming more visible in search behavior. Seven of the ten most-searched office parks in India are green-certified, accounting for over 66% of total office park search volume.
What’s clear is that India’s office demand is becoming more flexible, more specific, and more influenced by real-time needs.
