Tube Strikes Fuel Boom in Bedroom Bookings for London’s Leading Flexible Workspace Provider
[London: 30 April 2026]: Office Space in Town (OSiT), London’s leading flexible office space provider, has today reported a surge in demand for its suite of luxury in-office bedrooms, as London’s workers take pre-emptive measures to mitigate disruption from the next wave of Tube strikes.

The Cabins – a suite of luxury, hotel-style bedrooms integrated at OSiT Monument – have been fully booked by those seeking to avoid travel uncertainty during the next stage of London Underground walkouts, due to take place from 19th-22nd May and from 16th-19th June.

Since launch, the amenities have been used in a variety of ways, including by clients seeking a convenient overnight stay after evening engagements; by companies booking premium accommodation for international colleagues, and, increasingly in periods of Tube strikes, by commuters who are looking to avoid disruption and ensure their attendance at early morning meetings in the City.

The increased demand for The Cabins in response to upcoming Tube strikes reflects a broader evolution in employee behaviour and workplace expectations as workers continue their return to the office. UK office attendance hit 44.2% in mid-February 2026, the highest weekly level recorded since before the pandemic1, signalling a sustained shift back towards in-person working patterns, at a time when more employees are prioritising flexibility, convenience, and integrated amenities as essential elements of their workplace experience.

Sarah Singlehurst, Co-Founder of OSiT, comments: “The recent and upcoming Tube strikes have reinforced how important flexibility and certainty have become for workers in London. We are seeing The Cabins used in a very practical way, helping people to remain in the City and maintain their working commitments despite disruption to transport. This reflects a broader shift in how our businesses and employees think about their relationship with the workplace.”

The Cabins form part of OSiT’s ‘Omni-Office’ concept of fully integrated workplace models designed to support every aspect of tenants’ professional and personal lives. OSiT’s five Zone 1 London office locations – including the ‘Alice in Wonderland’ themed Waterloo and ‘Monopoly’ inspired Liverpool Street – each come equipped with a wide range of high-quality amenities including rooftop bars, gyms, hairdressing salons and speak easy social lounges.

OSiT has ambitions to acquire larger buildings across central London – ranging from 100,000 to 200,000 sq.ft – enabling the company to evolve its Omni-Office concept and scale its proven owner-operator model. Future sites are expected to go even further by expanding on high-demand offerings, such as The Cabins, with a vision to incorporate additional amenities, such as rooftop padel courts, day nurseries, and dental practices.
