The Harvard Business Review examines “corpoworking” and why dozens of companies are launching their own versions of coworking spaces. According to the article, companies are doing this as their employees seek the same qualities that freelancers and entrepreneurs report from using shared workspaces; mainly learning skills faster, making more connections, and feeling inspired and in control. The coworking giant, WeWork, is reportedly “getting rid of or limiting its non-compete clauses for employees, according to an announcement of a settlement from the New York Attorney General.” In the past, WeWork made all of its employees sign non-compete agreements that prevented them from taking jobs with WeWork competitors if they left the company. According to Bloomberg,The New York attorney general had been investigating the company’s use of these clauses since 2016. [/ezcol_3quarter_end]
