As the workforce moves further away from traditionally styled offices, coworking spaces have spiked in popularity. Now, employers all over the world have started putting more emphasis on the importance of workers’ well-being and happiness. Kuala Lumpur’s coworking market has been apart of this trend, and the amenities these spaces provide allow for a perfect work-life balance.

Coworking space Co-Labs provides a gaming area to give employees a chance to unwind in some friendly competition. A BBC report said that playing computer games at work increases a workers’ happiness and productivity, with another report stating that just 1-2 minutes of gaming is enough to blow off some steam.

Swimming pools are another luxury that some coworking spaces, such as Colony, provide that can benefit everyone. A report commissioned by Speedo showed that 74% of those who swam after a stressful day felt relaxed.

Another great coworking trend that is proven to benefit workers is offering showers. Coworking offices WORQ and Sandbox provide showers for employees who choose to wash up before heading home to make the lives of traffic dwellers easier.

Nap rooms are becoming increasingly popular in flexible spaces too. Bunk beds, napping pods, and even giant hammocks allow employees to take a midday nap, which is tied to a healthier mental state.

Most standard offices come with basic kitchens, but many coworking spaces are now offering full fledged cafes in order to boost company morale. Some spaces even offer free-flowing beer and tea.

Massages in the workplace is another great way to unwind after a stressful day. Sitting at a desk for multiple hours at a time can cause great health risks, so many coworking spaces have implemented massage chairs and therapists to promote everyday wellness.
