While being a digital nomad is full of great traveling experiences, there can be difficult moments if one does not prepare for the unglamorous side of remote working.

Generally, digital nomadism has yet to hit the mainstream, so most people will not understand how you could be working from across the world. This means making an extra effort to maintain personal and work relationships, as well as making sure potential new bosses understand your position.

Making new friends can also be difficult for workers on the go. To avoid unhealthy isolation, introduce yourself to your hostel peers and see where it takes you.

One of the most important things in making sure your work is safe is embracing the cloud, whether it is Google Drive or Apple iCloud. Having a cloud-based backup means that if you lose your computer, your work is still protected.

Many digital nomads live on a strict budget, but sometimes treating yourself without feeling guilty can be vital to boosting your mental health.

Overall, it is important to take your time if you do decide to work remotely. Make sure to be patient and get a feel of each place, then decide whether it fits you or not.
