Why CEOs Should Embrace Remote Teams

Remote working has quickly become a regular position among digital nomads and freelancers. Now, it could become more common across various other industries as more companies realize the numerous benefits that come with remote work options.

Ethan Bull, founder of ProAssisting, discussed why he thinks CEOs should fully embrace remote teams.

“First, technology has made communication instantaneous, friction-less and closes the geographical gap between CEO’s and their direct reports/teams,” said Bull. “Second, as remote work has been studied more, it’s proven that remote workers are more productive. When an employee is able to create their own work/life balance and has no commute, they work outside of normal business hours and feel a sense of reciprocity toward their company and boss for such flexibility.”

Despite all the benefits of remote working, there are disadvantages of having a remote executive assistant. For example, remote assistants are not able to complete menial tasks like grabbing coffee or lunch. Additionally, some remote workers simply do not have the discipline to work remotely and it can be hard to create a meaningful relationship with employees when you have no physical interaction with them.

Still, there are several companies that have successfully accomplished having a remote team. Automattic, the parent company of WordPress, has set a great example of how to utilize technology to keep all employees on the same page and retain the best talent.

Overall, remote working positions are no longer few and far between as more companies continue to embrace this work option.
