Today’s workforce has made it vital for companies to be equipped with the proper office atmosphere that supports the mental health and wellbeing of their staff. Doing so ensures that workers are satisfied and productivity is guaranteed.

Research conducted by CV-Library found that four in ten professionals are on the brink of burnout, so what can companies do to combat this growing problem?

“As we have seen a shift away from the idea of a ‘job for life’, and with start-up businesses and self-employment now more popular than ever, the office environment has evolved to meet this change,” said Aaron Balick, psychotherapist and the director at coworking firm Stillpoint Spaces UK.

Now more than ever, it is imperative for workspaces to offer more than just a desk to work at. Companies must also find a way to offer creative working solutions, such as standing desks and flexible work options, whether that be from home or a coworking space.

Additionally, companies can include office greenery to create an environment that is pleasing to the eye, helps improve air quality and is beneficial to everyone’s health.

Offering breakout spaces is another way that companies can encourage workers to unwind during the work day and take a break from staring at their computer screens.

Furthermore, organizations should equip their workers with the proper information about physical and mental health. For example, bringing in a healthcare advisor can allow workers to gain insight on how to prevent illness and support their own health throughout the work week.
