The National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) has opened a new coworking and event space in the Union Trust building just two blocks from the White House.
The nonprofit, which works to direct capital to underserved communities, owns the building where its headquarters sits on the fourth floor. The building once included incubator and coworking operator 1776, but the location closed in April.
Now, the new coworking space coined The Just Economy Club will offer a variety of private offices, as well as coworking shared desk areas. Along with the coworking features, the space offers a lounge, kitchen, conference rooms, and a theater that can accommodate up to 100 people.
“D.C. and the wider DMV region boast a vibrant and important collection of progressive nonprofit think tanks, advocacy groups, media, tech and social ventures, and we’ve designed a unique place for them to gather for work and events,” said Andrew Nachison, Chief Communications and Marketing Officer at the NCRC.
Tenants in the building will include the League of Conservation Voters, the Race Research Action Council, the Grassroot Project, and New America.
