What To Expect From Digital Workplace Trends In 2022

Last year marked a stark shift in the world of digitization. Companies large and small were forced to address their own technological hindrances, and improve the systems in place in order to accommodate a pandemic-ridden society.

Now that the world can look back at this time, leaders can take what they have learned from increased technology use and adopt even more modern ways of operating for 2022.

One of the biggest trends to expect from companies moving forward is the permanent adoption of flexible and hybrid work models.

This year, many organizations attempted to plan their strategies to return to the office, but the spike in Covid-19 cases driven by the Delta variant forced leaders to delay these plans until next year.

With this, businesses are expected to update their workspaces in a way that accommodates the “new normal,” including incorporating modern software that improves meeting equity among in-office and remote workers, intelligent cameras that can help boost collaboration between colleagues, and more.

In addition to more modern capabilities within the physical workplace, organizations are also expected to ramp up their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) efforts.

Many companies have already dedicated themselves to doing more for climate change and social justice causes, and this will only increase over the next few years. For instance, Amazon’s climate pledge that involves collaborating with other companies around the world has led to hundreds of organizations to commit to achieving carbon neutrality by 2030.
