By now, most are familiar with the latest flexible working trend: digital nomads. For those of you unfamiliar with the term, digital nomads are those who embrace remote working to its fullest and work from basically anywhere. This lifestyle / work style usually involves lots of travelling as well as lots of working.
Alliance Virtual Offices recently published a blog post exploring all things digital nomad. Digital Nomads: Living (and Working) the Dream talks about the perks, the downsides, the appearances, and the reality of leading a digital nomadic lifestyle. Although the trend has gained quite some strength over the last few years, digital nomads have existed for years–well, ages by now. And with stats showing that 92% of digital nomads claim to be happier since adopting this lifestyle, and with companies providing options to travel with other professionals, it’s no surprise the number of digital nomads keeps on growing.
However, it’s not an easy life to lead. While yes, you do get to travel a lot, you also have to go through the pain of finding good wifi and good hotels or hostels. Let’s not forget about the fact that finding clients isn’t particularly easy when you’re first starting out as a freelancer, and no cash flow means no travels and possibly some stress.
Still, the stats show that it’s a lifestyle worth living and that many are jumping on board and sailing off to different places to work and vacation at the same time.
So, what’s the verdict? We think you should see for yourself and let us know. You can read the full article here.
