Shanghai-based naked Hub, the largest network of premium coworking in Asia, announces major expansions in five cities in China and Vietnam — Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, growing its coworking Hub network to 21 across the region.
This new round of expansion will bring 12 locations citywide in Shanghai, with almost 100,000m2 of workspace and 15,000 seats to Asia’s freelancers, start-ups, SMEs and MNCs.
Fueled by the growth in start-ups and the shift in workspace from traditional offices to more diverse formats, coworking, introduced in Asia in the 2000s, has been increasingly popular and has formed new, vital urban communities based on ideals and collaborations.
Since November 2015, naked Hub combined its expertise in high-end hospitality and innovative designs into various Hubs at prime Shanghai neighborhoods, bringing premium choices for the 21st century workforce eager for flexibility and collaboration.
“Asia is the world’s most vibrant continent as countless creative minds are re-imagining how the world will move forward,” said Grant Horsfield, Founder of naked Group. “The strong partnerships we have built, both new and existing, are demonstrations of trust in naked Group’s vision and expertise to embrace the evolution of working space, and the value we could create for both our tenants and investors.”
“Of all coworking brands, naked Hub was singled out for its prestige, design and business-friendly environment,” said Jon Seliger, CEO of naked Hub. “We are building a coworking ecosystem with transformative power. It is bringing not only new landmarks of innovations and sharing, but also vitality and business opportunities to the surrounding neighborhoods.”
In pursuing the expansion, naked Hub is working closely and actively with local partners:
- Minhong Group, a subsidiary of Shanghai Land and a local real-estate leader, will cooperate with naked Hub to open the largest coworking space in Shanghai, the naked Hub’s hometown, with a 11,000m², 1,700-desk building on Loushanguan Lu in the Gubei district of Shanghai.
- Vanke, a real-estate leader nationally, will also partner with naked Hub, who will become the anchor tenant in the renovation and urban renewal of an erstwhile Shanghai landmark, the Columbia Country Club on Panyu Road, now set to be reborn as Columbia Circle.
- Gaw Capital, which began their strategic investment in naked Hub in the B round of investment in late 2016, will continue to partner with naked Hub to expand in three new locations – Beijing and Hong Kong in China and Hanoi in Vietnam.
- Mr. Nhan Vo, owner of Empire State real estate group, and Mr. Minh Le Hong, founder of Zalo, Vietnam’s leading chat app will also join naked Hub’s advent of three locations in Vietnam – one in Hanoi and two in Ho Chi Minh City.
“As we announce our plan to expand our footprint, I would like to thank all local partners for joining our cause to explore work space solutions for the 21st century,” said Seliger. “Together using the imaginative space we craft, we discover possibilities and models in business and build quality lifestyle for the public.”
