During his wide spanning career Ian has worked and developed his skills and experience across a broad range of disciplines, from technical and commercial to sales and management, giving him unparalleled experience to advise and help shape the continued presence and growth of ip-Xchange.
He achieved Chartered Director status in 2006 and was awarded the Fellowship of the Institute of Directors in 2015. Alongside his new role working with ip-Xchange, Ian also helps to nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs by running workshops for Business Studies students.
Ian said “It is a great honour and a privilege to be given the opportunity to work with an exceptional group of people in such an exciting time of growth and development. I believe that I can add my experience and understanding to the vast pool of knowledge and expertise which exists within the team at ip-Xchange.
“I am primarily a product of numerous mistakes and misadventures made and undertaken over the years and, if nothing else, I provide a different and impartial perspective to help the team at ip-Xchange avoid the pitfalls of my career. I am sure it will be great fun and a rewarding experience for all of us.”
Outside of work Ian is a keen marathon runner, having completed the Marathon de Sables and the Amsterdam marathon. He has also taken part in the TGO Coast to Coast challenge, a backpacking adventure taking in the stunning scenery of the Scottish highlands.
Kevin Winstanley, Managing Director of ip-Xchange said about the appointment: “I am lucky to have known Ian personally for almost 20 years and we share a lot of common personal and business interests, particularly in human development and customer care.
“Ian’s never afraid to challenge an assumption, is unflinching in getting to the nub of any subject and at this stage of ip-Xchange’s growth I welcome the addition of such a challenging, creative and influential member to the Board of Directors.
“I am absolutely sure Ian will be instrumental in aiding the strategic growth and development of our team to better aid our customers and future growth plans.”
Ian joins ip-Xchange at an exciting time for the company. They were recently crowned the 2017 BCA Partner of the Year Award at the Business Centre Association annual awards dinner in London and are experiencing strong growth in a competitive sector.
