The acquisition of KleinKantoor, the front-running Dutch coworking provider, strengthens Mindspace’s position as one of Europe’s leading coworking companies.
Amsterdam, May 15, 2018– Mindspace Ltd., the leading global operator of high-end, inspiring coworking spaces, announced today that it has acquired partner stake in Klein Kantoor (“KK”), one of the largest and most luxurious coworking operators in the Netherlands, with seven properties in Amsterdam and Utrecht’s most prime locations. All of the existing spaces of KleinKantoor and future ones in the Netherlands will fall under the Mindspace brand.
Dan Zakai, CEO and co-founder at Mindspace, said: “Amsterdam is one of the highest-barrier-to-entry markets in Europe. The city enjoys strong economic growth but experiences very low vacancy of office space. KleinKantoor’s founder, Mr. Emiel Doorgeest together with RJB Group of Companies, built an extraordinary portfolio of coworking spaces in rare buildings.
“We identified many similarities between Mindspace and KleinKantoor, specifically the uncompromising approach to unbeatable locations, design and level of service. We are excited about our entrance into the Dutch market, with a seamless transition and implementation of Mindspace’s operations,” said Dan Zakai
Emiel Doorgeest, Founder at KleinKantoor, said: “Together with Mindspace, we are strengthening our footprint as the Netherland’s leading operator. We are excited to ramp things up and provide our members with an even more unforgettable coworking experience via the inspiring, artistic environment that is so unique to Mindspace. The KleinKantoor team and myself are thrilled to join Mindspace”.
Post acquisition, Mindspace’s portfolio will grow to 25 locations and over 80,000 square meters, worldwide – with a European presence of six countries and 12 cities. Mindspace will rebrand the KleinKantoor locations at distinct Mindspace, complete with high art and design. Some locations will be designed from scratch to bring them up Mindspace’s phenomenal global standards.
Dentons Boekel N.V together with Meitar Liquornik Geva Leshem Tal advised Mindspace on the deal, and Van Diepen – Van der Kroef advised KleinKantoor on the deal.
