Evolving work climates have led to office designs to change at a rapid pace. What once was a cubicle-laden and dim environment has quickly become a hub for collaboration and creativity. Now, office design trends in 2019 are expected to change that much more.
Living walls are simply walls covered corner-to-corner in greenery and allow the outdoors into the office in a smart way. Biophilia has become a key trend throughout many offices as plenty of studies proves its contributions to overall well-being.
With this, mental health and well-being have become a priority in the workplace. Many office designs have started incorporating furniture that benefit good health, such as ergonomic chairs that reduce stress on the spine.
Additionally, the inclusion of relaxation and recreational breakout areas allow employees to unwind throughout the workday and create a healthier work/life balance.
Offices are also making an effort to be as flexible as their services are. Versatile furniture can prevent restrictions and therefore encourage productivity amongst employees.
At the heart of many of these design trends, flexible and coworking have been the undisputable pioneers. Pivoting away from traditional offices has made the concept of collaboration and creativity much more popular.
Although coworking spaces becoming a huge trend in the office sector over the past few years, some of these offices have a lack of privacy that can hinder singular work and productivity. Now, many workspaces are making sure to include some sort of booth or private workstations.
