Driving green initiatives takes a dedicated team to make it a reality, so it is important for enterprises to hire a staff that reflects these goals. Companies such as ARA, Mirvac, and Grosvenor have made it their goal to hire sustainability professionals in order to set their sustainable values in stone.
The recent trend in wellness design also plays a big role in boosting sustainability in the office, but Australia’s coworking spaces were far ahead of the curve on this one. For example, Hub Australia is committed to becoming a certified carbon neutral business by mid-2020.
Other Australian companies, such as Dexus, have found the value of data lakes in real estate as far back as 2015. Dexus in particular offers a “virtual engineering” smart data program that captures portfolio performance in terms of air quality and temperature, which allows them to make alterations to become more cost efficient.
Australia can maintain its title in sustainability by investing in deep analysis for building performance in order to fully analyze and combat root cause issues.
