Mindspace Doubles Down On Extra Flexibility With New ‘Hybrid’ Launch

Flexible office space provider, Mindspace, has launched a new on-demand program for customers to use workspaces for an hour, a day, a week or a month.

  • Flexible office space provider, Mindspace, has launched a new on-demand program for customers to use workspaces for an hour, a day, a week or a month.
  • Mindpass Daily, Multi and The Hybrid Office  provide “micro-flexibility” and have been designed for hybrid ways of working.
  • At Mindspace, on-demand, casual use deals have tripled in the past six months, compared to the same period the previous year, pre-Covid.

Mindspace, the global flex office space provider, has launched “Hybrid”, its new array of on-demand solutions for companies and individuals adapting to the new work model.

Mindpass Daily and Mindpass Multi offer on-demand, casual access to office spaces for 1, 4, 8 or 12 days a month, and can be purchased online via the Mindspace website. Prices start at $30 / £20 / ¢18. Hybrid Office offers a private office to companies under a hybrid model with teams who prefer working in-office on their WFH rotation. The Hybrid Office includes Mindspace membership benefits such as access to meeting rooms, event spaces, common areas and the many amenities available on site.

A global study run by Barco shows that 85% of the workforce wants to return to the office and resume the social aspect of working life, but with the freedom, flexibility and facilities to adopt a better blend of home and office working. The study also shows that this shift to a hybrid model is a trend that’s been building for many years and COVID-19 has simply accelerated it.

At Mindspace, the growth of the hybrid trend is evident: on-demand, casual use deals have tripled in the past six months, compared to the same period the previous year, pre-Covid.

German startup Smunch operates a team of 20 employees in Berlin, with 15 employees located elsewhere across the country. Shivram Ayyagari, CEO of Smunch comments, “As the pandemic hit, we couldn’t justify the need for a traditional office anymore. We switched our entire team to a hybrid work model at Mindspace and took up a combination of 8 desks and day-passes as the teams rotate between work-from-home and in-office work. This gives us a great set-up with the ability to scale up as the need arises.”

Imi Eiron, Founder of Israeli branding startup Like A Rainbow adds, “During the pandemic, we were hosting virtual training sessions for our customers from home and our lecturers had to deal with issues such as unstable internet connections and children in the background. By moving these sessions to Mindspace, our lecturers gained access to a fully equipped podcast studio and meticulous surroundings, plus we provided audiences with a much more professional experience. Their additional on-demand facilities will also help our new hybrid work model when we organize activities such as workshops and off-site training sessions.”

Remote work has created problems for employers who are struggling to keep company culture alive and ensure the wellbeing of their employees who may experience WFH burnout, resulting in higher attrition rates and employee disengagement. Studies by the Harvard Business Review have shown that frequent in-person interactions lead to commitment, support, and cooperation among people on teams.

“We launched Mindspace Hybrid as a direct response to companies tackling the challenges of shifting to working models that are a mix of in-office and at-home,” says Mindspace CEO and Co-Founder Dan Zakai. “The virtual workspace we all use while working from home isn’t well equipped for team brainstorming sessions, for project kick-off gatherings and definitely not for creative collaborations on tangible products. Above all, it doesn’t replace the essential need for human interaction”, adds Zakai.
