WeWork will close its Emeryville location in the San Francisco Bay by the end of this month.
The Towers at Emeryville facility took up three floors at 1900 Powell Street. The three-building office park is owned by real estate investor KBS.
WeWork members at this space were offered “white-glove moving services” to move to one of its nearby locations in Oakland and Berkeley.
The coworking operator did not reveal whether it planned to sublease any of the 57,000 square foot lease, nor did they reveal how many tenants currently occupy the space.
A spokesperson said this exit is part of WeWork’s internal portfolio review, which has been ongoing since 2019 and has led the company to close other locations across the country. This included four San Francisco locations, where the company listed nearly 200,000 square feet of space for sublease.
