American Express has revealed that employees will have the ability to work wherever they want for four weeks each year.
This is part of the company’s overall flexible work plans for the post-pandemic future, and will see employees fall into three categories: hybrid, on-site, or fully virtual.
According to CEO Steve Squeri, the majority of employees will work with a hybrid schedule as 80% said they would like to return to the office some of the time.
“We expect that the majority of hybrid colleagues will be in the office two days per week on average and can work from home on the other days,” said Squeri. “We also expect that teams within a business unit will determine their schedules and will define common days when they are in together as a team.”
AmEx’s new “work from anywhere” policy won’t go into effect until January 24 at the earliest for workers in Germany, the U.S., and the U.K.
