Microsoft 365 is launching a new feature that will identify breach attempts or inappropriate content and immediately notify supervisors.

The company’s compliance center will be able to speed up the process of monitoring messages for suspicious content, such as if a worker sends something offensive or violates the company’s privacy or harassment policies.

By implementing this new feature, companies will be able to cut the time it takes to review and investigate these types of emails, allowing them to respond more efficiently.

While some companies already have this type of monitoring software, Microsoft’s new tool aims to inform managers and leaders more quickly about inappropriate conduct between employees and from outside threats.

Although some critics have called this type of monitoring impeding on employees’ privacy, the increased number of distributed workers requires companies to be vigilant in wake of growing cybersecurity issues.

The upgrade will feature a dashboard that shows the number of reviews from each reviewer, high-risk accounts and messages, as well as any detections of policy violations.

Administrators will have the ability to include certain keywords or phrases to be flagged if used, which will notify leaders and let them know an incident has been identified.
