Technology Roles Dominate Glassdoor’s Top Jobs In the UK For 2022

Glassdoor’s annual ranking of the top jobs in the UK shows that in 2022, Java developers will be the best job to apply for.

Glassdoor put this role at the top of its list due to three specific factors: job satisfaction, earnings potential, and job openings.

Java developers get paid £55,381 ($74,231) annually on average. In December, there were 1,567 job openings in which three-quarters were remote.

Clocking in second was enterprise architect, despite offering the highest average pay of £73,898 ($100,207) of the top positions.

Last year, product manager was ranked number one but comes in at number three in the UK for 2022. This role pays an average of £60,656 ($82,278).

While corporate recruiter was ranked number one in job satisfaction, it came in seventh when all three categories were factored in.

Technology roles made their presence known in the overall top 10, likely due to these positions offering “more hybrid working and a better work-life balance” according to Glassdoor economist Lauren Thomas.

“HR positions are also well represented on the list as the current tightness of the labour market has forced employers to rethink their investment in employee experience,” said Thomas.
