Coliving company Urby has announced an expansion in the Washington D.C. area.

“This is their building from an operations and management perspective, fully Urby-branded,” said Toby Millman, senior vice president of development at Brookfield Properties. “The interior elements, unit design and amenities are all fully designed by them. It has a very sort of lush feel to it, views of the Anacostia River and a cultural focus for this generation of apartment dwellers.”

The Washington D.C. location will feature a coworking space, farm plots, green space, an on-site cafe, as well as a gym and pool.

The Yard’s 48-acre development will include up to 3,400 traditional residential units, over 40,000 square feet of retail space, and 1.8 million square feet of office space.

Urby currently has four open locations that offer studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units that range from $1,800 to $5,000 a month in New York and $2,185 to $3,455 in Connecticut.

The coliving firm’s website also suggests plans to expand to Dallas and Newark, New Jersey in the near future.
