Airbnb Announces New Partnership With Remote-Friendly Cities

Airbnb has announced a new partnership program to further its commitment to accommodating remote workers. 

Soon after informing its employees that they can work from wherever they please, Airbnb has announced that it will expand its Live and Work Anywhere initiative to highlight “remote worker-friendly destinations.”

“In the two years since the pandemic began, a new world of travel has emerged in which many workers are untethered to an office,” said Nathan Blecharczyck, cofounder and chief strategy officer at Airbnb.  

“In collaborating with these 20 destinations, we want to make it easier for workers to enjoy this flexibility and support the return of safe and responsible travel.” 

Cities featured on the list include Bali, Indonesia; Baja California Sur, Mexico; Malta; Mexico City, Mexico; Queensland, Australia; and Tampa, Florida.

The short-term rental company has continued to commit to the inevitable reality of a more distributed global workforce, both from within and outside of its operations. By doing so, Airbnb has been able to market itself as the ideal destination for digital nomads and travel lovers.
