Mark Zuckerberg has revealed yet another new expanded feature on Instagram that will allow small companies to conduct business easier than ever.
Now, the Meta CEO has revealed the launch of a “payments in chat” feature on the social media platform, allowing users to easily make purchases through direct messages.
In order to use the new add-on, users can send a direct message to the small business, where they can then ask questions, pay, and track their order all within one chatroom.
“You can now buy products from small businesses and track your order in chat on Instagram in the US,” said Zuckerberg. “Pay with Meta Pay and checkout in a few taps.”
Instagram already has its ‘Shop’ tab that allows businesses to market specific products and users to purchase items.
However, through this new feature, businesses that do not use Shop will be able to manage orders and payments without leaving the app, eventually allowing them to feature their products on the Shop tab.
