Another coworking operator is making its entrance into residential partnerships.
Industrious has teamed up with AvalonBay Communities to open coworking facilities across the real estate firm’s Los Angeles and Orange County apartment buildings.
The deal will start with two locations, with one located in Monrovia outside of Los Angeles and the other in Brea within Orange County.
Both coworking spaces will be situated on the ground floor of the apartment buildings, an area that is usually occupied by retail storefronts.
In addition to these new locations, members will also have access to Industrious’ other locations across the Los Angeles area.
This comes at a time when workers are demanding a third space to work out of — away from their homes as well as their employer’s main offices. By incorporating a professional space within residential buildings, operators like Industrious and WeWork are hoping to bridge this divide.
