Owl Labs has revealed the findings of its most recent survey to identify how peoples’ workplace preferences are evolving in the new era of work.
The adoption of hybrid work has been among the biggest factors to transform the workplace according to Frank Weishaupt, CEO of Owl Labs.
“When it comes to work environments, there’s no one-size-fits-all option that satisfies all employees, which is why hybrid work is the future, and this may look very different from company to company,” said Weishaupt.
According to the survey, there are different types of work that are better suited for remote arrangements, including independent work (57%), creative thinking (51%), focused work (49%) and deadline-driven tasks (49%).
On the other hand, many respondents agreed that the office is the ideal setting for collaborative tasks, including meeting new people (60%), team meetings (51%), and overall work collaboration (48%).
Because there is a distinct need for both a work-from-home setting and a professional environment, more businesses are leaning on a “third space.” For instance, some companies have incorporated coworking spaces outside of city centers and closer to their staff’s homes, allowing workers to still have flexibility in their schedule.
