Over 24,000 Tech Employees Have Already Been Laid Off This Year

According to data from Layoffs.fyi, which has consistently tracked job cuts since the beginning of the pandemic, shows that an average of 1,600 tech employees have been laid off each day this year.

New data suggests that the Great Tech Layoff of 2022 is bleeding into 2023. 

According to data from Layoffs.fyi, which has consistently tracked job cuts since the beginning of the pandemic, shows that an average of 1,600 tech employees have been laid off each day this year.

Disaster Avoidance Experts

Of the 91 tech companies that the company tracks, 24,151 employees were laid off this year so far. Last year, over 1,000 companies cut 154,336 workers, indicating that this year could be on track to surpass 2022.   

Tech companies that have participated in massive layoffs since 2022 include Twitter, Meta, Amazon, as well as numerous cryptocurrency companies such as Coinbase and Crypto.com
