Gen Z Graduates Prefer Remote and Hybrid Models

What’s going on:

A study conducted by NinjaOne reveals that 55% of Gen Z graduates from the class of 2023 prefer remote or hybrid work models. The study is based on a national online survey conducted with 1,000 Gen Z Americans between the ages of 22 and 25. The survey results also demonstrate that access to modern IT tools, fast problem resolutions, and flexibility in work are among the top priorities for this generation.

Why it matters:

As the latest generation entering the workforce, Gen Z’s preferences and expectations will shape how companies structure their working models and IT infrastructure. Their clear preference for flexibility and modern/efficient technology highlights the shift away from traditional in-office work towards more remote or hybrid models. These preferences could force organizations to reevaluate their current practices to be more competitive in recruiting younger talent. Gen Z’s expectations around IT onboarding and support underline the increasing importance of technology in the modern workplace.

How it’ll impact the future:

Businesses may need to revisit their work policies in order to successfully attract and retain talented Gen Z employees in the coming years. Leaders might decide to invest in better remote work infrastructure, improving IT onboarding and support processes, more flexibility in working hours, or opportunities for personal growth and wellness.
