Texas-based FUSE Workspace, a hospitality-driven provider of Class A flexible office workspace designed to help businesses build connections and flourish, today announced it has opened its fourth Austin-area location at 2105 East MLK Boulevard and is accepting members and tenants. FUSE-MLK will host a public grand opening and ribbon cutting event on Tuesday, October 22, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
“We are bullish on the MLK Corridor,” said FUSE Workspace President John Herring. “With the opening of our new location, we anticipate engaging local businesses and residents, increasing awareness of all this historic area has to offer, and spurring further imaginative, inspired revitalization of this dynamic part of Austin.”
FUSE’s new East MLK location is a joint venture between co-owners FUSE Workspace and the building’s original developer, Austin-based CB Capital, an experienced developer of office, retail, industrial and storage projects across Texas and longtime benefactor of the Austin community.
“We have already had a great response from interested parties, and the local neighborhood has welcomed us warmly,” said Herring. “Our members are thrilled to find they can walk, bike, scooter, or take the train or bus to and from this new location.”
FUSE Workspace is partnering with the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce for the ribbon cutting, which will take place at 5:30 p.m. There will be an open bar and food offerings, music, free raffle items, building tours, and a check presentation to the Austin chapter of Friends of the Children. In addition to Herring and General Manager Julie Caldwell, speakers at the public grand opening of FUSE Workspace-MLK will include: − CB Capital Co-Founder Brian Haley;
− Austin Chamber of Commerce (Jenna Rodarte, Customer Success Manager);
− Friends of the Children (Caroline Page, Director of Development and Communications, Friends of the Children Austin);
− Mural Artist Mike “Truth” Johnston, who created the unique “Do More” mural at the MLK location; and
− David Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Pastor (Rev. Robert J. Pellette, Executive Minister) who will give the invocation.
The event will also serve to honor the Austin chapter of Friends of the Children, a national nonprofit organization that has revolutionized the youth mentoring field by creating the first and only long-term mentoring program in the country.
The event will also highlight FUSE Workspace’s partnership with The Master Cares Foundation and Grace Bridge for their work in providing health care, education, and freshwater drinking wells to communities in Uganda.For each new FUSE location that opens, its owners donate to The Master Cares money to fund a new freshwater drinking well in an underserved community and sponsor a Ugandan child’s attendance at The Master Cares School. FUSE Workspace is one of the largest providers of flex office co-working spaces in the Austin area, with six locations, four of which are in downtown and suburban Austin. Plans are moving forward to develop a fifth FUSE Austin location. This new location will feature 36,000 square-feet of private offices, coworking, meeting and event space. The 3.2-acre site sits lakeside on Central Park Drive in Cedar Park, just northwest of Austin and is adjacent to a proposed 7,000 square-foot retail center. “Fuse-MLK is ideal for any small professional services business, start-up, solo entrepreneur or service provider,” said Herring. “This is a prime location in the heart of a vibrant, walkable community and is close to downtown, the Dell Medical School, and The University of Texas.
