United Airlines is being forced to cut down its January schedule due to nearly 3,000 employees calling out sick over Covid-19 infections.

United Airlines Forced To Cut January Schedule Due To Covid

As cases of Covid-19 skyrocket across the country, United Airlines has been forced to cut down its schedule due to sick employees.  

During the holidays at the end of 2021, the airline company had to cancel thousands of flights due to increased cases and winter storms. However, a spokeswoman declined to specify how many flights United would be canceling for January.

“Just as an example, in one day alone at Newark [New Jersey], nearly one-third of our workforce called out sick,” said Scott Kirby, CEO of United.  

According to Kirby, none of its 96% vaccinated employees are hospitalized and that it has not a Covid-related death within its workforce in eight weeks.
