What LinkedIn’s Hiring Report Reveals About The Great Reshuffle

LinkedIn’s newest report shows that hiring in the U.S. leaped 8.1% last month, offering insight into where the Great Reshuffle is leading the workforce.

LinkedIn’s February Workforce Report 2022 shows that hiring in the U.S. saw a big jump in January.

According to the report, the professional platform’s hiring rate grew 8.1% last month, its highest level seen since it began tracking this data in 2015.

The rate is measured by how many of LinkedIn’s 186 million members in the U.S. started a new job during January, and this statistic comes as workers shift to new roles amidst what some are referring to as the Great Reshuffle.

The report also showed that hiring was 10.6% above January 2020, particularly among recreation and travel, software and IT services, and transportation and logistics industries.

Simultaneously, the U.S. Labor Department reported that jobless claims fell for the second week in a row.

There has been an ongoing labor shortage in certain fields, such as the service and education sectors, leading professionals from these arenas to find work that offers more flexibility, as well as financial and mental health support.
