To celebrate International Women’s Day 2023, The Flexible Space Association (FlexSA), in partnership with technologywithin, hosted its second Women in Flex event, this time in Manchester. The event was held at Clockwise Manchester Linley House on Wednesday 8th March and brought together women working in the flexible workspace industry.
With over 40 industry professionals attending, the Women in Flex event aimed to inspire, inform, and build connections among women in the field. Two panels were held with a total of six speakers.
Hosted by Alexandra Livesey — COO at Clockwise — panel one explored career progression in the flexible workspace industry and featured Gal Leslie, Sales & Marketing Director at 2-work, and Jane Erasmus of UBC.
Panel two which was hosted by Heather Gray, Director of Sales at Clockwise, looked at juggling work & personal commitments, planning your work and setting career goals, working patterns, traveling with work and the shift to hybrid working. Panelists included Freya Cross — Head of Business & Corporate at The Deep Business Centre & Chairman of Flexible Space Association, and Hannah Al-Shaghana — Partner at Beyond Corporate.
Following the success of the first event held in London last November, FlexSA recognized the importance of providing opportunities to inspire women to develop their careers in the flexible workspace sector. The positive feedback and informative discussions from the London event spurred the organization to continue with the Women in Flex series.
Jane Sartin, Executive Director at FlexSA, said of the event, “It was fantastic to be in Manchester and bring together so many women working in the flexible workspace sector to be inspired by the career journeys of our speakers, and make new connections with each other. International Women’s Day provided the perfect opportunity to celebrate the role women play in the success of flexible workspaces.”
