Rising Women’s Workforce Drives Saudi Arabia’s Unemployment Rate To Historic 6.3% Low

Saudi Arabia has achieved its lowest unemployment rate among nationals ever recorded, with the rate dropping to 6.3% in the first quarter of 2025.

Saudi Arabia has achieved its lowest unemployment rate among nationals ever recorded, with the rate dropping to 6.3% in the first quarter of 2025. This marks the lowest figure since the Kingdom started publishing official labor force statistics, according to the latest data from the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).

The significant reduction in unemployment is largely linked to the rising participation of Saudi women in the workforce, a key outcome of the country’s labor market reforms under the Vision 2030 initiative.
