A new analysis from Monster found that healthcare, data science, and science careers offer the strongest overall workplace experiences, based on millions of employee ratings and reviews collected during the first four months of 2026.
The report evaluated occupations using a composite score across eight factors, including compensation, workplace culture, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), job security, management quality, work-life balance, CEO approval, and career outlook.
Healthcare Tops the Rankings
Healthcare practitioners ranked first with a workplace experience score of 3.86 out of 5, followed closely by mathematics and data science professionals (3.85) and science technicians (3.81).
Education and library professionals, teachers, life science professionals, legal professionals, financial professionals, engineers, and entertainment and sports professionals also ranked among the top 10.
The top 15 also included architects, operations managers, business operations professionals, construction support workers, and administrative assistants.
Job Satisfaction Extends Beyond Office Careers
One of the report’s biggest findings is that highly rated workplaces span a wide range of industries, not just traditional white-collar professions.
Construction support workers ranked among the top 15 occupations for workplace experience, suggesting that positive work environments can be found in skilled trades as well as professional careers.
The difference between the highest- and lowest-ranked occupations in the top 15 was just 0.32 points, indicating that strong employee experiences are achievable across many fields.
More Than a Paycheck
Monster’s findings suggest that workplace satisfaction depends on more than salary alone. Employees also value supportive leadership, workplace culture, job security, career growth, and work-life balance when evaluating their jobs.
For job seekers, the report highlights the importance of looking beyond compensation when comparing career opportunities, as positive workplace experiences are available across diverse industries and occupations.
