Majority Of Flex Operators Say Software Integration Is Their Biggest Tech Problem

OfficeRnD’s latest survey finds operators favor connecting their existing software over replacing it with one larger platform.

Flex space operators may have settled on their preferred software vendors, but connecting those systems remains a major challenge, according to a new survey from OfficeRnD.

OfficeRnD’s 2026 survey of  flexible workspace operators found that Stripe is used by 85% of respondents, while HubSpot accounts for 54% of CRM use. But data from over 1,000 accounts on the platform found that operators have an average of just 1.65 of five core systems connected: payments, accounting, door access, CRM and network.

Fourteen percent have none connected, while only one account had all five.

Integration gaps remain a major headache

OfficeRnD found that 68% of operators identify integration gaps as their biggest technology challenge, ahead of cost, training and AI.

The disconnect is particularly notable around accounting. While 57% of operators consider accounting integration a must-have, only 40% have it connected.

Manual work also remains widespread. Among 142 operators who described their most repetitive processes, billing ranked first overall. For multi-location operators, however, billing fell to eighth, suggesting that operational headaches change as businesses expand.

AI use also fell from 26% to 18% year over year, according to OfficeRnD’s survey.

When asked whether they would rather consolidate more functions into their space management platform or better connect the software they already use, 66% chose integration.

For flex operators, the technology challenge may therefore be less about finding another platform and more about making existing systems work together.
