- The UK is the world’s leading flexible workspace market
- Flexible workspaces will account for 10% of the total market across the UK within the next 10 years
- The Global Coworking Unconference Conference takes on the UK for the first time this upcoming September
In January this year, research from Cushman & Wakefield revealed that there was record growth in demand for flexible workspace across the UK. In Central London alone, 2.5 million square feet were leased to flexible workspace operators in 2017.
The UK, and London specifically, have long been leaders of the serviced workspace market, and Cushman & Wakefield estimates that within the next 10 years, flexible workspaces will account for at least 10% of the total market across the UK.
The Global Coworking Unconference Conference (GCUC) announced today that it will be hosting the first ever GCUC UK conference this year. It’s only fitting, as Liz Elam, founder of GCUC said “It is time that the world’s largest coworking conference comes to the world’s leading market.”
Since 2011, GCUC has been bringing together key players from the industry–investors, operators, real estate owners, technology experts, etc. “GCUC is a melting pot where investors, operators, and owners can collaborate, share ideas, network and learn from peer from all around the world.”
Just this past year, GCUC hosted conferences in New York, Shanghai, Singapore, Melbourne, and Vancouver. And this 2018 they are pushing their boundaries in Europe.
GCUC UK will take place this upcoming September in London and it will follow GCUC’s model: a conference day, an unconference day, and a coworking tour day. Justin Harley, founder and CEO of Hubcreate–acquired by essensys–, will be running the show in the UK.
Early bird tickets go out today (March 20th) for a limited time only. The conference will be September 25-26th at Kings Palace.
