Finding the balance between a comfortable, yet productive coworking space may seem about impossible, but with the right eye it can be executed to create a seemingly perfect office space.
Including private offices, dedicated desks, lounge areas, and more are just a few examples of creating a coworking space that meets the needs of all clients.
“Everything is designed in mind of how to be your best, productive self in a comfortable, upscale hospitality-based platform,” says Scott Somerville Owner of Columbus’ Serendipity Labs locations.
Spaces should be as comfortable as they are purposeful to get the most out of a work day. For example, open areas with desks accommodate coworking members seeking flexibility, while a private office can meet the needs of clients looking for security. Somewhere in the middle is a dedicated desk assigned to a specific individual.
No matter what type of amenities someone needs, a coworking space still gives them the opportunity to enjoy the luxuries of collaborative areas.
Serendipity Labs addresses possibly distracting areas through their Focus and Wellness Rooms, where someone can make a private phone call or simply work without any outside diversions.
Coworking spaces also seek to not only bring their members together, but also recruit the outside community into their offices. Serendipity hosts networking events and other gatherings that work as a marketing tool for their locations.
“It’s a great way for us, not to just be part of the community, but also to allow new people that may not have been in the space before to experience the space,” Somerville says.
Other details to create a perfect coworking space include things that can often be overlooked, such as secure internet connection.
