WeWork has joined the likes of Amazon and Microsoft as one of Seattle’s largest office space occupiers with 19 locations expected by the end of 2019.
The company doubled its presence in the city by the end of 2018 with 12 locations and is now expanding existing offices as well as leasing new spaces.
So far, WeWork has expanded their presence across its 500 Yale, Westlake Tower, and 4th Avenue locations, as well as signing new leases in downtown and the Capitol Hill neighborhood.
Now, WeWork officials said that its Seattle footprint is at 1.7 million square feet compared to the 900,000 the previous summer.
The move into the trendy Capitol Hill area marks a shift beyond just downtown areas and into more of the city’s popular neighborhoods.
