Durham-based coworking space Nido: Coworking & Childcare focuses on providing a workspace for female professionals and childcare services for working parents.

Nido was founded by Tiffany Frye and Lis Tyroler, who hopes to build a community that supported a healthier work-life balance for parents.

Nido features 24/7 access for members, as well as a conference room, printer, and unlimited coffee.

The company’s Montessori program spans from six months to six years old, but members are not required to enroll their children.

“Nido has been a vital part of not only my professional life, but also my personal life,” said Frye. “It has been the village I’ve needed as a working parent of young children.”

Members Maggie and Bill Powell, co-founders of digital marketing agency The Goodness Factory, joined Nido after they found it more difficult to care for their 9-month old child and get work done from home. Maggie, who struggled with feelings of isolation after becoming a mom, accredits the coworking space for helping her feel apart of a community

Recently, the nonprofit organization welcomed Marie Agosta to serve as executive director due to her experience with scaling pilot projects.
