The BEI Hotel San Francisco has converted 120 of its rooms into apartments. The newly converted apartments will be managed by Common, a New York-based co-living startup.
Earlier this year, Common took over the management of its competitor, Starcity. The new additions to its co-living portfolio represent the co-living company’s first partnership “to bring micro-unit residential typologies to hotel buildings across major U.S. cities.”
Monthly rent for the apartments will start at $1,650, which represents a 20% discount from comparable units in the area. Each apartment has its own bathroom but shares common areas and kitchen space.
Common currently manages around 7,000 apartments across 12 cities. The company was founded in 2016 and has raised $110 million in venture capital investment.
