How Vaccination Status Could Impact Someone Job Search (2)

Many workers across the U.S. may return to the office in the coming months contingent upon them receiving a Covid-19 vaccine.

Simultaneously, several people are seeking new jobs as we enter the post-pandemic era, meaning that a person’s vaccination status could impact their job search.

Everyone’s job search will vary over the next few months, so here are a few things to consider when navigating the market.

Regardless of opinions on vaccination statuses, it is clear that many companies are likely to inquire about each candidate’s status for the foreseeable future. That’s why it may be ideal to include vaccination status on resumes during this period of time.

If a worker does not want to receive the vaccine or is unable to, they may need to submit to weekly or even daily testing and wear a mask when working in the office.

Workers need to also consider their level of comfort, personal health, and which work arrangement preference will be best for them moving forward. This may mean seeking jobs that specifically offer remote or hybrid work options.

Asking potential employers about their Covid-19 protocols can also help a candidate make an educated decision. For instance, someone may be uncomfortable being indoors without a mask mandate, so inquiring about specific practices can help determine whether a job is right for them.
