Research conducted by IWG revealed that there is a shift in power towards employees, as ‘Generation Flex’ dictates how workdays operate.
IWG’s survey revealed that 85% of Canadian respondents would pick a job with flexibility over one that didn’t. Additionally, 77% of these respondents said that flexible work options have become the new norm.
“Having a company that’s nimble enough to change with the times has never been more important,” said Wayne Berger, CEO of IWG Canada and Latin America. “For companies serious about winning the war for talent, offering flexible arrangements is now the norm.”
While many companies have jumped aboard including flexible options in the workplace, 60% of surveyed Canadians believe that corporate culture has kept businesses from implementing this sort of policy.
Berger said that companies that fail to embrace this workplace shift risk losing potential talent, as many younger generations now expect agile work arrangements.
