WeWork is known for its rapid expansion and evolution of space, but how exactly do they accomplish to create such a large network?
WeWork CTO Shiva Rajaraman explains that anything that the company can automate through machine learning can help them in their scaling goals.
“One is how do we offer space as a service? If you just think about it’s really basic,” said Rajaraman. “Are you looking for what location do you need? Where do you need it? How long do you need it? Are there different pricing models for it?”
According to Rajaraman, the company opens between 15 and 20 buildings a month and do so by attempting to disrupt the business model. He gives an example of GE Health in Seoul, where WeWork took its underused areas and transformed it into a flexible workspace.
In addition to this, the company has created a new membership called City Pass which allows WeWork members to have access to any of its spaces throughout Seoul.
