According to the 2019 Generation Z city index by apartment search website Nestpick, London is the top destination Generation Z workers.
London scored a perfect 100 for coworking spaces, with New York in close second with a score of 98.12.
The study examined 110 cities and used 22 factors under four broad headings including: digitization, business, principles and leisure.
The top five cities best suited for Generation Z’s wants and needs are in descending order: London, UK; Stockholm, Sweden; Los Angeles, USA; Toronto, Canada; and New York City, USA.
Flexible workspaces are a common theme among the top 20 Generation Z cities, averaging a 22% growth in coworking spaces. In London alone, Office Freedom found a 16.2% year on year growth for coworking spaces from August 2018 to August 2019.
Coworking spaces offer this generation a low risk and affordable workspace option, particularly those within the freelance and startup world. Even now, corporates have found value in these flexible offices, especially as they tend to attract young professionals.
