Amit Ramani, CEO of Awfis Space, started his company in hopes of revolutionizing office spaces in India through the incorporation of technology.
Ramani offered insights into how HR leaders will be the key factor in transforming workplaces to reflect today’s workforce.
“With the new generation at the helm of joining the workforce, it becomes a necessity for corporates to redefine their practices and workspaces to suit the newer generation’s style and needs,” said Ramani. “A well-designed office space that supports communal growth and work ethics, which goes beyond a single category of population and is helpful for all the generations, will eventually make coworking spaces the go to choice for many professionals across segments.”
Ramani said that it is up to HR to shift a company’s focus to identify the needs of clients, serve these needs efficiently and build systems that ensure sustainability of these offerings.
Additionally, automation will be key in making HR as efficient as possible. Using automation for hiring, performance management, learning time and attendance and employee communication makes it easier for a distributed workforce to perform their best.
“Technology has redefined the functioning of every business,” said Ramani. “Similarly, technology has enabled HR practices to be more efficient, systematic and organized. Automation has changed the way HR contacts employees, analyzes data and recruits employees.”
