Over three million people used coworking spaces in 2019, and it is expected that number will climb to five million by 2022.
It is clear that the coworking industry is here to stay, but why are people flocking to these shared workspaces?
According to Emergent Research, Small Business Labs, 74% of coworking users saw a boost in productivity and 82% were able to expand their professional networks.
Additionally, 83% of coworking members felt less lonely and isolated, while 89% felt more social, productive and happier overall.
Notably, amenities like free coffee or meeting rooms came second behind these findings. It’s clear the coworking’s ability to nurture meaningful professional relationships is key in keeping users coming back.
Despite the space and amenities itself being secondary to community, it is still important as members typically look for spaces that suit their business needs. Common coworking amenities include dedicated desks, private offices, a team suite, Wi-Fi access, coffee, secure internet and more.
Furthermore, most coworking spaces offer flexible lease terms at an affordable rate, keeping small businesses and even corporations coming back to these shared offices.
