San Francisco e-commerce company Bolt has now pivoted to a four-day work week.
The tech unicorn piloted the program in the fall of 2021, and as a result found that productivity has spiked, employees are more satisfied, and work has been streamlined.
In fact, founder and CEO Ryan Breslow showed that an internal survey at the end of the trial showed that 94% of workers and 91% of managers would prefer the arrangement to continue.
Additionally, 84% of staff said their work-life balance has improved and productivity has increased, while 86% said they have become more time efficient.
“A lot of companies operate with a lot of work theater, which is people caring more about the appearance of working than the actual work,” said Breslow. “So you have countless meetings, countless documents, countless presentations. It’s impossible to sift through the noise and get to the heart of the matter.”
