Employee social connection platform Wisq has secured $20 million in a Series A funding round, bringing its total amount raised to over $40 million.
Wisq aims to help reconnect professionals who have suffered from isolation as a result of the pandemic. Through the platform, coworkers can strengthen their relationships no matter where they are located.
“Social connections increase employee engagement, job satisfaction and employer loyalty and are critical factors at a time when people are quick to jump ship to the next opportunity,” said Jim Barnett, CEO of Wisq. “It is incumbent that business leaders foster authentic social moments as an essential part of the workday.”
Wisq differs from other forms of social media and workplace communication platforms by solely focusing on supporting camaraderie within the company.
Users can create unique profiles and audio lounges that brings a company’s community closer. Wisq then uses artificial intelligence to help generate engagement between users based on similar interests.
There are four areas of improvement that early beta customers whose employees use Wisq have noted: belonging, onboarding, growth, and Employee Resource Groups.
The new financing will be put towards expanding the platform’s services and team.
