Online freelance marketplace TaskRabbit is going fully remote and has announced that it will be exiting all of its offices across the country.Â
The firm had already vacated its offices in London and New York. Now, it will also leave behind its space in Austin and San Francisco headquarters. Â
Earlier this year, TaskRabbit began pivoting to a remote-centric workforce. However, the firm still plans to bring employees for monthly meetups in Austin, London, and San Francisco, as well as bimonthly meetups Los Angeles and New York City.Â
This comes as a blow to San Francisco’s office sector, with the city struggling to fully rebound in office occupancy. The region heavily relies on tech companies to take up office space, but much of this industry has pivoted to either hybrid or remote work arrangements in recent months. Â
TaskRabbit itself previously occupied 20,000 square feet in the city before decreasing to 7,500 square feet before deciding to fully vacate.Â
